YWAM Visayas National Conference.
The first YWAM team to visit the Philippines was led by Jim and Jan Rogers in December 1968. They stayed two months and witnessed in Manila and on the island of Mindoro. Two years later, Ross & Margaret Tooley brought in a team called the Asian Circle Team that witnessed for two months in Manila and throughout parts of Mindanao. At the conclusion of that Asian Tour, Ross & Margaret’s team returned a year later in December 1971. YWAM has continuously been in the Philippines ever since.

YWAM began in the Philippines in 1968 with the first outreach team. The first permanent base was established in Baguio in 1972. Since then, it has grown steadily to nearly 45 operating locations across the country.
Core Focus (aligned with global YWAM)
- Know God and make Him known through evangelism, discipleship, training, and mercy ministries.
Main Areas of Work
- Discipleship & Training — Core program is the Discipleship Training School (DTS) and various upper-level schools. Many bases run regular DTS with lecture + field outreach phases.
- Evangelism & Missions — Gospel outreach, campus ministry, church planting, frontier missions to unreached groups, creative evangelism (sports, arts, music, extreme teams), and short-term mission trips.
- Mercy & Compassion Ministries — Disaster relief (e.g., Typhoon Haiyan), feeding programs, maternal care, justice & restoration (prostitution, orphans, street communities), livelihood projects, and community development.
- Youth & Next Generation — Strong emphasis on youth discipleship, campus evangelism, and raising Filipino missionaries.
- Specialized Ministries — YWAM Ships Philippines (maritime missions), YWAM Impact Campus (innovative evangelism & training hub), and various regional bases (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao).
YWAM Philippines is a vibrant, growing movement that trains and sends out local and international workers to impact the nation and beyond. It remains one of the most active YWAM national ministries in Asia.
