YWAM Iloilo is part of the larger YWAM Philippines network, which traces its roots to the late 1960s. Loren Cunningham (YWAM founder) first visited the Philippines in 1963, followed by early teams in 1968–1972 that established the first permanent bases (e.g., Baguio in 1972). The Iloilo base (World Mission Center in Molo, Iloilo City) is a smaller, established location focused on discipleship and frontier missions. It has been operating for well over a decade—appearing in University of the Nations (UofN) catalogs by the mid-2010s—and runs programs like the Frontier Missions DTS. Led by Base Leader Eun Bok (Lucy) Cho, it emphasizes training disciples, outreach to unreached groups, and community impact in the Visayas region, while staying connected to YWAM’s global vision of “knowing God and making Him known.” The base maintains a modest staff and hosts regular schools and short-term opportunities.
